John's Priorities

We are continuing to add more priorities weekly. Please check back often for updates.

Jobs & The Economy

Every American has the right to a good job that offers a living wage. We must have an economy that works for all, and not only the wealthy.

Health Care

John opposes repealing the Affordable Care Act (ACA), but recognizes that our current health care system does not work for all Americans. By improving and overhauling the ACA, John will work to find a path towards providing universal health coverage for all.

Education

Education is vital to our state's economic success. John believes that by properly funding our public schools and providing free tuition to public colleges and universities, our state will continue to attract businesses seeking a well-educated and skilled workforce.

Immigration

We are a stronger and more vibrant nation because of our immigrant communities. John believes that we must pass comprehensive immigration reform that upholds current laws while also providing a path to legal status for undocumented immigrants.

Energy & The Environment

Climate change driven by human activity threatens our environment, health, and safety. By investing in clean renewable energy, we can minimize the impacts of climate change, while also creating good paying jobs.

Seniors

As a nation, we have a moral obligation to care for our seniors. It is critical that we preserve and protect the social safety net that ensures our seniors are well cared for.

Infrastructure

Improving our infrastructure is vital to our nation's economic success. We must invest in rebuilding our aging transportation systems, water and sewer pipelines, and public utility networks to ensure public safety and create good paying jobs.

Women

Texas women deserve leaders that will support their right to make their own medical decisions, fight for equal pay for equal work, and protect against gender based discrimination in the healthcare industry.

Criminal Justice

Our criminal justice system is in need of reform. The mass incarceration of non-violent offenders costs taxpayers billions of dollars and has disproportionately impacted people of color, low-income individuals, and those struggling with mental health concerns.

Civil Rights

As Americans, we believe that all people are created equal and have certain unalienable rights. We must ensure that the rights of all people in this nation are protected, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, and physical or mental ability.

Veterans & Military Families

Our veterans and service-members have dedicated their lives to this country, and it is our duty as a nation to provide them and their families with the resources they need to thrive.
