Campaign Reform

We deserve representatives in our government that will serve the will of the people rather than the interests of corporations, lobbyists, and super PACs. We need leaders with new ideas and fresh perspectives who are willing to represent the needs of their constituents instead of narrow partisan ideologies.

John supports taking steps to reverse the effects of the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision. We can curb the influence of dark money, corporate backers, and powerful lobbyists by strengthening campaign disclosure rules, implementing public campaign financing, and limiting the length of time during which campaigns can be conducted.

Additionally, John believes that implementing mandatory term limits on members of Congress will help to bring fresh ideas, innovation, and a spirit of cooperation to a U.S. Congress that is currently entrenched in its ways. As a member of Congress, John pledges to cosponsor and vote for the U.S. Term Limits Amendment, which would limit a member of Congress to three terms in the House of Representatives and two terms in the Senate.
